Enhance Your Smile with Dental Implants
Missing one or more teeth can impact more than just your smile–it can affect your ability to eat, speak, and feel confident every day. At The Dental Hub in Columbus, OH, we offer dental implants as a permanent, natural-looking solution to replace missing teeth and restore both the appearance and the function of your natural teeth.
Whether you’re repairing a broken tooth, replacing an old metal crown, or simply looking for a more discreet, tooth-colored option, porcelain is a trusted, long-lasting choice that blends seamlessly with your smile.
Types of Dentures
We offer several types of dentures to meet your needs, whether you’re replacing all of your natural teeth or just a few.
Each implant is made from titanium, a biocompatible material that integrates well with your body and is unlikely to cause an allergic reaction. The result is a long-lasting, stable foundation that feels and functions like a natural tooth.
The Dental Implant Procedure
Your dental implant treatment is tailored to your needs, but it generally follows these key steps:
Step 1: Consultation
One of our dentists will evaluate your oral and overall health, determine the best type of implant for your situation, and create a personalized treatment plan.
Step 2: Dental Implant Surgery
Under local anesthesia (and sedation, if needed), we’ll place a small titanium post (the implant) directly into your jawbone through a small incision in your gum. This post will serve as the foundation for your new tooth.
Step 3: Healing and Integration
Over the next few months, your jawbone will fuse with the implant through a process called osseointegration. This step is essential for long-term stability. You may experience some mild swelling and tenderness during this time, but symptoms are usually manageable with over-the-counter pain relievers or as directed by your dentist. This process generally takes several months, and we will monitor your healing with periodic checkups.
Step 4: Restoration Placement
Once osseointegration is complete, you’ll return to one of our Columbus offices for the restoration placement, which is the visible part of your new tooth. This typically involves a minor surgical procedure to attach an abutment to the implant. The abutment acts as a connector between the implant and the restoration.
Once healing is complete, we’ll secure the final restoration—such as a crown, bridge, or denture—to the implant abutment, giving you a fully functional, natural-looking smile.
Implant Restoration
If you’ve already received an implant but need a new crown, denture, or prosthetic tooth, we offer implant restoration services at The Dental Hub to restore your smile to full function and appearance. Whether your replacement tooth is worn, damaged, or simply due for an update, we’ll ensure the replacement fits comfortably and blends with your natural teeth.
Is a Dental Implant Right for You?
Most healthy adults are great candidates for dental implants, especially if you’re looking for a reliable alternative to bridges or removable dentures. To ensure implant success, it’s important to have healthy gums and enough jawbone to support the implant post. During your initial consultation, one of our dentists will assess your oral health, review your goals, and recommend the best option for your unique needs.
